Important notice for all parents that are applying to                     special needs schools in October.
  • Please be aware that schools require a new application each year.
  • Your child's last Educational Psychological Assessment has to have been administered within the last two years or else the application to a special school will not be accepted.
  • Application forms should be sent to schools by registered post. Some schools operate a list system.
  • Do not send in an application before the acceptance date as any applications received before this date will not be accepted.
  • If you need to get a private assessment please contact the school's SENO for further advice.
  • There are long waiting lists for private assessments so start sooner rather than later. (up to 6 months)
  • Special school placements are very hard to obtain as there are only a small amount of places made available each year. If a special school is recommended for your child please begin the process of applying to appropriate schools as soon as possible as your child could be waiting many years for a placement.
