Post-primary Applications - First year 2022/2023

​Most of the post primary schools in the area are open for application on the 1st of October - 22nd October. Please check the website of the schools that you are applying to as most have been updated by now.

Moyle Park visited the school today, and each boy was given an application pack to bring home so you can check this with your son after school.
Coláiste Bríde will be dropping in application packs with a prospectus next week so they will be sent home with the girls in 6th class.  In the meantime you can take a look at their virtual open day here:

Please note that we are advising all parents to apply to at least 2 post-primary schools this year.

Tips for parents

  • ​Familiarise yourself with your local secondary schools
  • Apply on behalf of your child to a minimum of 2 schools
  • Key application deadlines are available on school websites now
  • You will need these documents to send in with your application, so begin to gather these now:
    • School application form
    • Your child’s birth cert
    • Your child’s PPS number
    • Proof of address (electricity/ gas/ utility bill)

Transition to Post Primary School - Parent talk

Parents of children in 4th, 5th and 6th class are invited to attend a parent’s talk that will focus on your child’s transition into post primary school.  The talk will be given by a representative from the National Parent’s Council. This talk is aimed at parents of children in 4th, 5th and 6th class in our school.

This talk will be very helpful to you if your child is starting secondary school this year, or if you will be applying for a place in 2022 or 2023.
