Two of our 6th class pupils attended St. Patrick's College, DCU to be trained as referees by David Gough. They will have the honour of refereeing matches in Croke Park during Easter! |
5th class girls participated in activities organised by Transition Year students in Coláiste Bríde. Their project for Young Social Innovators involves encouraging girls to be more active and get involved in sports. Our girls had a great morning and were filmed by News2Day! |

This year 5th and 6th classes are taking part in the programme. They are running each week and also learning about nutrition, hydration, the social and mental benefits of exercise etc.

Congratulations to the 6th class boys who won their division of the recent Round Towers U12 Camáint Hurling Competition!
2018/19
The coaches from Leinster Rugby, who delivered the brilliant sessions at the Easter Camp, are running an amazing inclusive summer camp in July. Leinster Rugby Inclusion Camps provide children with all disabilities aged between 6-15, with a fun-filled three days of rugby during the summer holidays. The camps are focused on adapting rugby to meet the needs of camp-goers to maximise enjoyment and learning to play the Leinster Way. The camp for South Dublin is taking place in Terenure RFC from the 2nd-4th of July from 10.30am-12.30pm (Please see attached poster).

Cross Country Finals, 16th May, 2019A fabulous day for 47 of our pupils from 3rd-6th class! They competed in races with over 3,000 boys and girls from South Dublin schools. Thanks to the organisers, the teachers who have coached them this year and to the parents who helped with supervision.
Cycle Right Programme5th class participating in the Cycle Right Programme. Having lots of fun but also learning valuable safety skills.
Clondalkin Cetlic, in conjunction with South Dublin Partnership and the FAI, gave taster sessions to our 1st and 2nd class girls. A league for girls will start during the summer.

Spar 5s Blitz, April 2019
We entered two teams for the girls' blitz and two for the boys. Great fun on the day and not far from Clonburris either!
Young Whistlers
Two of our 6th class girls were given the opportunity to attend a refereeing workshop in St. Patrick's College of Education, DCU. They refereed in Croke Park on April 15th. Thanks to the LGFA, Cumann na mBunscol and David Gough.

Cross Country Race, 7th February 2019
Pupils from 3rd-6th class ran in the first cross country race of 2019. The races are organised by South Dublin County Council. Mr. Ryan and Ms. Ruddy accompanied the children and a number of parents walked over with them. Great results and great fun!
Final mile in Santry!Congratulations to our 6th classes who ran the final mile of their marathon in Santry! Super effort from all the boys and girls. Thanks to their teachers and SNAs for all their hard work and to the parents who helped with supervision.

Marathon KidsThis is our 2nd year to be involved with Marathon Kids. 6th classes are running each week, looking at all the benefits of exercise, getting healthier and happier each week! Ms. Walsh and Mr. Garvey are doing great work and Mr. Murray is leading the way each week. South Dublin County Council provide so much support for these kind of initiatives.

David Gillick runs with 6th classDavid Gillick, Marathon Kids Ireland ambassador, came to visit us with Paula Swayne from South Dublin! He did a warm-up with 6th classes and then ran with them, before we had a Q&A session in the classrooms. Inspirational!

Ciarán Carr Foundation Colour Run
The Ciarán Carr Foundation has fund-raised for a number of years and each school in the area has defibrillators as a result. The Family Colour Run this year raised funds to help maintain all these defibs and to continue training. A great morning in Corkagh Park with pupils, parents, staff and their families running and having fun!
