Our 'Young Whistlers' in Ms. Walsh's class practised their refereeing skills before they went to Croke Park. Teachers are very generous with their time. We're lucky enough to have four teachers involved with the girls' teams and four also with the boys' teams.

Classes did lots of Active Breaks during November. Each class had a laminated sheet and ticked off which type of active break they did. Mr. Murray had a great idea and sorted activities which could be done for the '12 Days of Fitmas'. Classes did these accompanied by Christmas music! We'll be continuing with active breaks in the New Year. |

Sports in our School
The pupils in Clonburris have many opportunities to take part in a variety of sports. Boys from 4th-6th can play Gaelic football in leagues with other schools, as part of the Junior or Senior team. Girls from 4th-6th can play Gaelic football in a league also. Both boys and girls play in mini-leagues within the school in the 3rd term.
Gaelic Football training: September-October: Monday 2.30-3.15 for boys and girls
During the year external coaches encourage the children to try various sports, such as Tag Rugby, Skipping, Gaelic football & hurling and gymnastics. These classes are in addition to class PE lessons.
Our annual Sports Day is a much loved event! It's held in the third term and each class level takes part. Parents are encouraged to support their children on the day. Sports Day includes running races, relays and many novelty events, such as the sack race and egg and spoon race.
