Dear Parents,

As your children are starting preparation for their First Holy Communion in the coming weeks I would strongly recommend taking the children to mass each Sunday before they make their Communion.

Also, to help them in their preparation if you could practice the Communion songs and prayers at home each evening that would be a huge help to them.

** Communion Songs **

Please find attached the songs that the children should be practicing at home in preparation for their First Holy Communion.

1. This is the day.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKKc742a5Lc

2. His Banner over me.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeGMkjtu_QE

3. Oh the Love of my Lord.

*** Communion Prayers ***

1. The Confiteor.
I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
Amen

2. Our Father
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy Kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

3. Prayer Before Communion.

Lord Jesus, come to me.
Lord, Jesus, give me your love.
Lord Jesus, come to me and give me yourself.

Lord Jesus, friend of children, come to me.
Lord Jesus, you are my Lord and my God.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

4. Prayer after Communion.

Lord Jesus, I love and adore you.
You’re a special friend to me.
Welcome, Lord Jesus, O welcome.
Thank you for coming to me.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, O thank you
For giving yourself to me.
Make me strong to show your love
Wherever I may be.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask you to stay
Close by me forever and love me, I pray.
Bless all of us children in your loving care
And bring us to heaven to live with you there.

I’m ready now, Lord Jesus,
To show how much I care.
I’m ready now to give your love
At home and everywhere.
Amen.

4. The Gloria
Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace
to people of good will.
We praise you, we bless you,
we adore you, we glorify you,
we give you thanks
 for your great glory,
Lord God, heavenly King,
O God almighty Father.
Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son,
Lord God, Lamb of God,
Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world,
have mercy on us;
you take away the sins of the world,
receive our prayer;
 you are seated at the
right hand of the Father,
have mercy on us.
For You alone are the Holy One,
you alone are the Lord,
you alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father.
Amen.

Dear Parents, Boys & Girls,

I would like to say a big well done to all the boys and girls who made a great effort to continue doing school work during the school closures. Thank you to all the parents who stayed in contact and kept me updated with emails and pictures of the excellent work and learning that was taking place at home. If you have any questions feel free to still contact me via email (mshylandclonburris@gmail.com).

I hope all the boys and girls have a great summer!

Stay safe and take care of yourselves!

Ms. Hyland.

End of Year Poem

I really can’t believe it,
Summer holidays are almost here.
Our lessons are done and dusted,
And the end of second class is near.

Even though this year was very different,
With schools closed due to Covid 19.
You all continued to work at home,
Some of the best workers I have ever seen!

I want to say how proud I am,
Of each and every one of you.
For continuing to learn, play and smile,
Even though this online way was new.

Our time together as a class,
Was not as long as I thought.
But I am really going to miss you all,
And all the happiness each of you brought.

So to the boys and girls in second class,
I  hope you have the best summer ever!
You will all be amazing in third class,
Will I ever forget you guys? – Never!

Happy Summer Holidays!

Love from Ms. Hyland
