Active Home Week 2020
27th April - 3rd May

Here is a fun lesson for my groups this week!                                        (Poster below)

1. Write your spellings, your name, your family names and any words you know on some paper.
2. Put them into a box and give them a shake!
3. Pick out a word and check the poster to see what your exercise is.

** Challenge: Put in some VERY long words like, hippopotamus or Clonburris or happiness. Why not add the word Coronavirus, if someone picks that word they have to do the exercise twice!!  Ask others at home to join in too!

20th April 2020 - update.

Hi everyone,
I hope you enjoyed your Easter holidays and ate some nice Easter eggs!!

We were out enjoying the good weather, and we taught our little boy, who is 3, how to go on his bike without his stabilisers. He was very brave and now loves to do it all by himself!

For the next little while I would love for you to send me some of the work you have been doing, a photograph of your work and books you have been reading, or just a message to say hello!

My email address is : mshilliardclonburris@gmail.com

I can't wait to get some messages from you!
Have a look below for some new ideas. Or send me some of your ideas and I'll add them to the list.

Talk soon,
Ms Hilliard

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well at home.

It is strange not being in school every day but I hope you are doing some things to help out at home and enjoying the extra time to play!

I have been keeping busy too, and I have learned how to bake cupcakes and cookies.
I promise I'll bring some in for you to taste when we are back at school.

While you are at home you could try some of these activities below, and don't forget to give yourself some yard time too! You can keep your work in one copy or pages , whichever is easiest. And I can't wait to see what you have been doing.

We will be back at school soon and I look forward to hearing about all of the learning and fun things you have been doing!

Ms. Hilliard

*****Newsflash!****

Picture
I saw some great news that A won a prize for having a wimdow of brilliant St Patricks Day Art! Well done!

I wonder will Liverpool FC be given the title of Premier League Champions? What do you think K? I know you are a super fan! They were way ahead so they should be the winners I think! Mr M wont be happy that Arsenal didn't do so well!

Are some of the girls still making dance routines? I have tried to, but I keep getting mixed up!

I hope M and TJ are still enjoying some time on your bike and playing Lego Ninjago!

My classroom wall will need some new artwork on it when we are back so if anyone wants to make some colourful pictures bring them in to me!

Reading Recovery

Read some pages of a familiar book every day, fairytales are great!

**Parents: **
-they should read 150-200 words on their own but make sure book is a familiar one and build up a store of familiar books
-you can read some pages of a new book to them over a few days and hopefully over time it will become familiar to them

Continue to write a story sentence everyday like we usually do, keep them in a book or copy if you can

Cut up your sentence and put it back together.

Hello J, J and B
and to M, A, S, S and K

I hope you are keeping safe and keeping busy!

Remember that you can try to help at home and you can help to mind smaller brothers and sisters too!
Read them a story, sing a sing with them, help them with their school work!

You could even teach them something new!

How about working together to build a tower of blocks that is taller than you?
Or teaching them the names of colours in English, or Irish, and going on a hunt to find things that colour.

Get some outdoor exercise too! And if you cant get outside try some of the Body Coach PE classes, some Cosmic Kids Yoga, or you can make up your own exercise or dance routine.

We will be back at school soon and we will have lots to chat about!
