STAY ACTIVE - EAT HEALTHILY
Everyday in our school we encourage all children to stay active and eat healthy foods. Please do not provide unhealthy snacks or chocolate for your child's lunch. Also a reminder that we have severe allergies in our class so please do not include any food items containing nuts.
PE - This year children have PE on a Tuesday and a Thursday. Please ensure your child wears their tracksuit on both of these days.
Learning is Fun
The children have loved reading the story of Noah's Ark this week. They all loved working in groups together to create their Noah's Ark display. Please encourage your child to share the story with you at home.
First Full Week Back
All the boys and girls were ready for school work after their summer holidays. They all deserved golden time for all their hard work at the end of the week.

Easter Bonnets and Parade
As a whole school we have been focusing on Athletics in PE over a number of weeks. The Junior Infants have been improving their running, jumping and throwing skills through different games. Our favourite game was The Popcorn Maker and we also loved the bean bag relay races.
We really enjoy working together in groups. Using our maps, we made decisions together and worked out the best routes to take us around our garden.
Structures using Spaghetti
We were experimenting using spaghetti and marshmallows to make different structures with Mr Lawlor.
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
We love to work together in pairs. Here we sequenced the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Every year in Clonburris we welcome Grandparents to visit their grandchild in school as part of Catholic Schools week. This time is especially important for our Junior infants as it is the first time they get to welcome their Grandparents into their school and classroom.
The Book With No Pictures
We really enjoyed reading The Book With No Pictures this week especially when it makes grown ups say silly things. The children used their imaginations to create pictures for the book.
A big thank you to all of our parents/guardians who joined us to read our new books and help the children with their pirate activities. We really enjoyed welcoming you all into our classroom and meeting all our friends.
Our first Christmas Concert in Clonburris - Superstars!!
Aistear - Learning through play.
Active Learning - Bringing our classroom outside. We really enjoy learning to write our numbers with chalk.
First month of Junior Infants nearly over and we are learning so much. We love learning our new sounds each day.
